“”The hand of The Lord was upon me, and He brought me out by The Spirit of The Lord, and set me down in the midst of the valley;”

In geology, a valley or dale is a depression with predominant extent in one direction. A very deep river valley may be called a canyon or gorge.
Many of us are in the valley now. It feels as if we are alone. It feels endless. I feels awful.
The reality is not those things at all. It is not endless. We are not alone. He is with us. He is sustaining us. He will see us though. He promises us that.
Lifting you in love and prayer.

years ago we visited Death Valley…after I did a lot of reading about the history surrounding the valley.
Despite the dry, bleak, deadly reputation, Death Valley had, still has a sort of magnetic pull on many. Is it the calm? The solitude? The vastness?
I can’t seem to even put my finger on why it intrigues me so much.
I was not afraid of this place, and in a strange way, I felt, ‘at home’ almost comforted in this place that claimed so may lives.
I think many of you could agree…it is familiar…the depression, the solitude, isolation, quietness…in a strange way, we have learned to take comfort in these things.

I saw beauty there where most see waste.
I felt peace where most have fear.
I’m strange, I know.

not every valley will be a valley of abundance of life and growth. Sometimes the valley we come upon will be like death valley. Some will have more ‘death valleys’ than lush valleys.
But, with all certainty I can say that God will be in every valley we find ourselves in. Every one.
